Jacquelyn Rokusek is an experienced trial attorney having tried more than fifty jury trials and numerous bench trials in federal, state and city courts. Since opening her law practice, Jackie has focused on criminal, traffic, family and landlord/tenant law.

Jackie attended Washburn Law School where she wrote the top brief and was named top intramural competitor on the Moot Court Team. Jackie was also a member of the Washburn Law Journal. She became managing editor of the WLJ in 1992 and was published that same year. That article, Criminal Procedure: The Court Distinguishes Between the Sixth Amendment Right to Counsel and the Fifth Amendment Miranda Right Against Self-Incrimination, 31 Washburn L.J. 601 (1992), illustrated her interest in criminal law.

During her final year of law school, Jackie accepted an internship at the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office. During that internship, she tried numerous domestic violence and traffic trials, including eleven jury trials. Following her graduation in 1993, Jackie accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney in the Johnson County District Attorney's Office. Jackie was assigned to the juvenile unit for several months before being promoted to the adult felony trial division. Although Jackie handled a variety of felonies, her primary focus was on drug charges, traffic offenses, felony DUI's and involuntary manslaughter cases. During the six years she spent in the D.A.'s Office of Johnson County, Jackie tried more than forty jury trials and numerous bench trials.

After being offered a position in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas, Jackie became a Special United States Attorney prosecuting federal drug offenses. Specifically, Jackie focused on methamphetamine laboratories and gun offenses. In this position, Jackie gained experience in the area of wire taps, federal investigations and federal motion and trial work. Jackie worked directly with the DEA, FBI, ATF, INS, USPS and other federal agencies. Jackie is currently on the federal attorney appointment list.

Since opening her practice, Jackie has continued to take challenging and exciting cases in the areas of juvenile and adult criminal law, traffic law, family law and landlord/tenant law.
