Since graduating from New York University School of Law and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, Scheherazade has worked in a variety of settings in the private and public sectors. As a litigation associate at two New York City law firms, Scheherazade worked on projects ranging from complex anti-trust matters to suits involving major players in the financial services industry falling under anti-money laundering and counterterrorism laws. Scheherazade also has extensive experience in the non-profit world, having worked on women and children's rights issues at UNICEF and at human rights advocacy organizations in New York and in India. Most recently, Scheherazade served as the counsel to the Education Committee at the New York City Council, where she drafted legislation and worked on a variety of public policy issues related to public education in New York City. Scheherazade did her undergraduate work at Columbia University.
