Kristian graduated from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in May 2001 with a Certificate in Environmental Law. His areas of focus include condemnation law, environmental compliance and administrative law, initiative and election law, governmental relations, and civil rights litigation in the areas of education, property and firearm rights, as well as obtaining justice for the victims of child sexual abuse.
Kristian has quickly established a reputation among Portland lawyers and judges as first rate writer and scholar, and has brought his sharp analytical skills to work on civil rights cases, condemnation actions, real estate and Measure 37 claims, election and initiative law, and child sexual abuse cases.
While at Northwestern School of Law, Kristian received the Cornelius Honor Society Award for outstanding contribution to the law school, was a member of Environmental Law, the school's oldest law review, was recognized for Best Appellate Brief for first year Moot Court, took first prize in the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Scholarship Essay contest, and served as campus chapter President of the Federalist Society. Kristian earned his B.A. cum laude in Political Science from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg in 1996.
