Lawyer Overview

Mr. Roach graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas and obtained his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.  Mr. Roach was committed to becoming a trial lawyer from the start of his legal education. He has been a member of the University of Texas Board of Advocates, and as law students in 1990, he and Mr. Reed won the State Bar of Texas Moot Court Competition.  After completing law school, Mr. Roach  practiced exclusively as a personal injury trial lawyer and earned Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Mr. Roach's practice concentrates on personal injury and long term disability.

Mr. Roach has become a recognized expert in the field of ERISA law, especially as it applies to long term disability insurance policies.  He is one of the few attorneys who handle long term disability claims from the date of the original denial of benefits, through the administrative appeal process, all the way to both Federal District Court and the Federal Appeals Court.  Not only has he been successful in overturning wrongful denials of long term benefits, he has been willing to do so on a contingency fee basis.  This has enabled persons who have been placed in an economic bind due to the wrongful denial of benefits the ability to afford quality representation.

Mr. Roach is also the firm's primary appellate lawyer and has successfully argued cases before the Texas Court of Appeals, The Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.  He has several published opinions from instances in which he has successfully defended our clients' rights on appeal.  Mr. Roach is admitted to practice in all Texas courts: the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas, and the Western District of Texas; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
