McShea Tecce was founded in 1998 by two senior litigators from one of Pennsylvania's largest firms - John McShea and Fred Tecce. Since then, the firm has grown to its current level of eight attorneys, two of whom are registered patent attorneys. The firm's attorneys have diverse professional backgrounds in the field of litigation, including government, regulatory and private practice, and have taught and lectured at Temple University Law School's LLM Trial Advocacy Program, NITA, local community colleges and at a national university. With a heavy emphasis on trial and appellate litigation, the firm engages in a wide-ranging civil litigation practice that is commercially oriented, in both state and federal courts around the country. The firm's civil cases deal with corporate disputes of all types, including antitrust, intellectual property rights, construction, toxic tort, professional malpractice, trade secrets, aviation, employment and class action matters.

McShea Tecce prides itself on managing complex litigation in a cost effective manner. The firm is committed to efficiently staffing cases consistent with high quality professional service. It is the firm's experience that carefully reduced staffing can result in lower fees with no loss of effectiveness because of the elimination of unnecessary coordination and duplication of work. The firm also believes that lean staffing provides better, more personalized client service: the partner in charge of the file truly knows the entire case and will be ready to try the case if a resolution is not possible.

The firm counts among its clients several national publicly traded corporations as well as smaller corporations, partnerships, and individuals. The firm frequently acts as local counsel in collaboration with national counsel in the handling of matters in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region The firm also serves as a "banister" for other law firms that do not themselves litigate or that have either a conflict or some other issue which requires referral to specialized counsel. Indeed, one of the firm's largest sources of business is other national law firms in Philadelphia.

• Defense of a national class action suit against a publicly held corporation;
• Defense of a privately held corporation in federal court in Pennsylvania against claims for breach of contract and civil RICO;
• Defense of a privately held corporation in the medical implant industry against claims of trade secret misappropriation and tortious interference;
• Local counsel for a Fortune 100 manufacturer of heavy equipment;
• Lead counsel in declaratory judgment patent and antitrust action concerning artificial turf surfaces on behalf of a large privately held company;
