Law Firm Overview

Advantage Law Group, APC was formed in April 1999 by the firm’s co-founders, Patrick Nellies and Marc Kroop. At the time, Mr. Nellies and Mr. Kroop envisioned the creation of a statewide "boutique" law firm practicing exclusively in the field of labor and employment. From the outset, ALG’s home office has been located in San Diego and in 1999 its first satellite office opened in Tustin (Orange County) California. By 2005, ALG had expanded to the Bay Area with the opening of its second satellite office in downtown Oakland.

On January 1, 2007 ALG proudly announced the addition of two equity partners, Anthony Ruggieri and John Goffar. ALG laid the groundwork to open its third satellite office in San Jose. ALG’s San Jose office will be fully operational by September 2007.

The mission of ALG is to apply our specialized knowledge of employment law and vast resources to help you (our clients) achieve the best possible results in the most expedient and efficient manner possible. While disputes inevitably arise between employees and employers from time to time, our considerable collective labor relations experience has led us to conclude that lengthy ongoing litigation is generally the least desirable method of resolving employment disputes for both the employee and the employer. The cost and time associated with litigation, not to mention lost productivity and opportunity, is immeasurable. Whenever possible, we implement our specialized process of representation to work with our clients to save costs and time. We do so by engaging in alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") processes, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. In our considerable collective experience, we have found that in most cases, the best results are achieved through ADR as an alternative to litigation.

Despite our commitment to ADR, not every case will be resolved. In the event your case cannot be resolved despite our maximum efforts, our team of trial attorneys is fully capable of litigating a case and obtaining a court judgment or jury verdict. Our track record of results reflects the firm’s zealous advocacy of our clients’ legal rights. Our considerable experience in the litigation arena includes arbitrated results, bench trials, jury verdicts and reversal of adverse judgments in the court of appeals.
