James A. Freeman & Associates, PC is a young firm with a long history. Formed in 2003, James Freeman brought to the firm his 30-plus years of experience in business, risk management, insurance, products liability defense and related legal matters gained both in corporate and private practice. Mr. Freeman then carefully assembled his legal team mixing the proven skills of experienced veterans with talented young lawyers and staff to create a small firm capable of cost-effectively handling a wide range of legal matters.

The firm’s attorneys have a combined total of more than 80 years of professional legal experience and an even broader range of real world experience. They are part of the greater Nashville community with wives, husbands, children and pets just like many of the clients they serve. But they are also capable of and regularly deal with businesses, both large and small, state and federal courts, state and federal regulatory agencies, and law firms of all types and sizes throughout the country.

Mr. Freeman, individually rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating procedure for ethical standards and legal ability, has written and lectured extensively and was recently selected for inclusion in “Marquis Who’s Who in American Law.” Both Mr. Watts and Mr. Shreffler have impressive credentials, having been partners in law firms in Louisiana and Kentucky respectively. Mrs. Dedmon has impressive academic credentials and an extensive background in business.
