The law firm of Previant, Goldberg, Uelmen, Gratz, Miller & Brueggeman. s.c. has a long and illustrious history of protecting the rights of working people.

PGU was founded in 1912, by attorney Joseph Padway, a pioneer in the field of labor law. Padway authored major labor laws and was the first general counsel for the American Federation of Labor.

Our impressive team of labor lawyers represent many of the largest labor unions in Wisconsin and around the nation.

In addition to our unmatched depth of knowledge in labor law, our firm has a litigation team that handles a wide variety of serious and complex personal injury cases.

In 1969, our litigation team was strengthened by the addition of Attorney Larry B. Brueggeman. Mr. Brueggeman has vigorously and successfully handled many complex litigation cases on behalf of working people.

Over the years, we have participated in federal and state appellate court proceedings on behalf of organized labor, winning nine victories in the United States Supreme Court.

Today, the breadth and depth of our labor and personal injury practices is unsurpassed. And, since the founding of our firm, we have taken great pride in our commitment to unions, union members and working people.

PGU labor lawyers represent the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Teamsters Joint Councils with members in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa and parts of Illinois, Building Trades Unions around the country, the United Paperworkers International Union, the Machinists Union and UFCW Local Unions.
