Mike Roe represents individuals and entities in a wide variety of business transactions and commercial litigation. His primary focus is in the areas of entity formation, acquisitions, real estate, finance, and general business. He also represents business clients in criminal and administrative proceedings.

Mr. Roe initially practiced with Vinson & Elkins in Houston, Texas where he represented regional, national, and multinational corporations. His experience there included participation in large corporate transactions and the public and private sale of securities. After returning to Idaho, Mr. Roe practiced in the business group of another well-established Boise law firm, where he represented individuals and small to medium-sized corporate clients in mergers, acquisitions, and a wide range of other business transactions. Mr. Roe later held the position of Vice President/General Counsel with a start-up health care services company. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing all the legal affairs of the company. Immediately prior to joining Moffatt Thomas, Mr. Roe was in private practice, during which time he gained additional litigation experience, including the representation of clients in numerous court and jury trials.

Mr. Roe graduated from the University of Idaho, summa cum laude, in 1986 and Columbia Law School in New York in 1989, where he was designated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
