Lawyer Overview

Manuel Calderon practices in the area of intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. Manuel is also currently involved in a copyright infringement matter. His representative matters have involved, or currently involve, mathematical computer software, LCD panels and thin film transistors (TFTs), 3-D computer graphics and related source code, video games, memory cards, Web-related computer software, DVD technology, programming languages, computer architecture, and wireless LANs, including patent and copyright disputes in the Eastern District of Texas and the Northern District of California, and a contract case involving computer software in front of the American Arbitration Association.

In addition to his litigation experience, Manuel has successfully prosecuted patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to starting law school, Manuel was a software engineer at Ford Motor Company, where he developed graphics and simulation software, and at Paradigm Entertainment, where he worked on 3-D video games. He also developed 3-D computer graphics for television commercials.

Manuel is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas/Fort Worth Intellectual Property Law Association.
