Lawyer Overview

Jean-Louis Martin practices in all aspects of real estate law and investments, with particular focus on acquisitions and sales of assets, portfolios, and property companies and the formation of real estate funds. He leads the Firm's real estate practice in Paris.

Jean-Louis has extensive experience with commercial and logistics real estate, including development projects for such assets. His clients include the real estate funds managed by AIG European Real Estate Partners, AIG French Property Fund, Apollo Real Estate Advisors, LaSalle, MSREF, Tishman Speyer Properties, and UBS Real Estate Europe; investors such as Bank of Ireland, Generali, and Irish Life; and a number of French investors and developers.

Jean-Louis also has a sports law practice. He has been involved in major international sports events and, as president of the Legal Committee of the French Professional Rugby League (Ligue Nationale de Rugby) since June 2000, advises the league on the sale of its national championship broadcasting and marketing rights.

Before joining Jones Day, Jean-Louis worked in the Paris office of Debevoise & Plimpton and in the real estate group at Clifford Chance.
