Stephen Brown advises major corporates, largely in the chemicals and telecoms sector. He advises in relation to all areas of corporate contractual matters including warranty claims, joint venture disputes, shareholder disputes, and disputes concerning the meaning of agreements. Stephen has a proven track record of substantial wins at trial, most recently in the High Court for BASF, GE, and Ineos. Stephen is also recognised for his pensions dispute resolution practice.

Stephen's notable engagements include:

• Moy Park Limited v. Sanofi-Aventis SA & Others concerning the types of damages available to claimants in cartel claims

• Inquam Telecom (Holdings) Limited v. Primus Telecommunications Limited concerning the interpretation of a contract between telecoms providers

• Ineos Vinyls Limited & Others v. Huntsman Petrochemicals (UK) Limited concerning the construction of long-term supply agreements

• General Electric Company v. Powell & Another involving claims for breach of warranties given in the sale of a business

• Marsh McLennan Companies UK Ltd v. Pensions Ombudsman and Another regarding guaranteed minimum pensions

• Lansing Linde Ltd v. Alber and Others concerning the rectification of pension scheme rules

• coordinating the defence of proceedings in seven jurisdictions around Europe brought against BASF and

• claims by C&W against IBM regarding an outsourcing contract.
