Dr. Hoon Choi started his career in intellectual property law as a law clerk at Pennie & Edmonds LLP. He was an associate at the firm from 2002 through 2003. Currently, his practice focuses on patent procurement, opinion work, and patent litigation. His field of specialty includes pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology.

Hoon's experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, rendering patentability and infringement opinions, managing patent portfolios, and advising clients on their patent strategies. He has been involved in patent litigations as well.

Hoon has managed patent portfolios and rendered patent advice for the following representative clients:

• Esperion Therapeutics (now a part of Pfizer)

While in graduate school, Hoon conducted research on the subject of structural-functional relationship of an enzyme luciferase from V. harveyi. He is coauthor of "Catalytically Active Form of the Individual Subunits of V. harveyi Luciferase and Their Kinetic and Binding Properties," J. Biol. Chem. 270: 16813-9 (1995).
