Lawyer Overview
Sean Armstrong's practice is focused on complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. His significant experience includes: an insurance coverage trial concerning the costs to rebuild a client's fire-damaged ethylene manufacturing plant, an antitrust class action against three of the largest funeral home owners and the largest casket manufacturer alleging boycotting and price-fixing claims, a copyright infringement case against a leading enterprise software company, an SEC investigation and a securities derivative class action regarding alleged accounting improprieties, a trial concerning breach of a petrochemical purchase and sale agreement, a trial concerning breach of a natural gas transportation agreement, several construction contractor disputes for a petrochemical manufacturer, and several commercial UCC disputes for an equipment leasing company, a health products company, and a computer manufacturer, including a successful appeal to the Fifth Circuit.
Prior to earning his law degree, Sean was a credit analyst for Credit Suisse where he managed credit exposure over a wide range of financial products for the U.S., Offshore, and Canadian Bank portfolio in the fixed income, derivatives, and equities division of credit risk management. Also, while interning at the U.S. Court of International Trade in New York, he helped write opinions for antidumping and countervailing duty cases.
Sean is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American and Houston Bar Associations.
