Lawyer Overview

Neil Ferguson is a corporate lawyer advising on joint ventures, fund formations, and mergers and acquisitions. His experience covers a wide range of matters in a variety of industries. In recent years Neil's corporate clients have included British Land, Hansteen Holdings, Honda, and Bridgestone.

Neil represents a number of private equity funds with particular focus on real estate funds including Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds (MSREF), CIT, CalEast, Orion Capital Managers, and LaSalle Asia Opportunity Funds.

Recent transactions in which Neil has been involved include the joint venture between British Land and London and Stamford with respect to the disposal of a 50 percent interest in the Meadowhall Shopping Centre (attributing a value to the asset of £1.1 billion), the third-round investment by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Special Situations Fund III in Adama Holding Public Limited at a post-money valuation of €440 million, and the formation of the LaSalle Investment Management Company II Fund, a parallel partnership with capital commitments of $1.025 billion.

Neil has spent time on secondment at Morgan Stanley as general counsel for the real estate division in London during the period when MSREF IV led the consortium for the take private of Canary Wharf Group.

Neil is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
