Lawyer Overview

Rosalind Connor specializes in pensions and employee benefits, with particular experience acting for employers in pension restructuring and valuation and in corporate activities where the views of the trustees should be sought. Her practice involves liaising with and negotiation with the Pensions Regulator in relation to clearance, notification, and general Regulator interest and also liaising with the Pensions Protection Fund.

Rosalind has published articles in many leading specialist journals and is a regular speaker at conferences. She is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and serves on its international subcommittee. She is also a member of the Share Plan Lawyers Organisation and is an associate of the Pensions Management Institute.

Her recent experience includes:

• advising on and obtaining clearances from the Pensions Regulator for a share buyback in the face of intense opposition from trustees

• negotiating with the trustees of a pension scheme to allow the sale of a group of companies with a worldwide consideration in excess of US$1 bn

• conducting a worldwide review (with overseas colleagues) of the pension provision of a large multinational and

• advising a U.S.-based corporation on providing ongoing support for its U.K. pension plans following significant depletion of the U.K. business activities.
