Lawyer Overview

Lena Bacani's intellectual property practice focuses on patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright litigation in state and federal courts. She has significant experience across a wide range of industries, including aerospace, video game and motion picture entertainment, medical devices, and biotechnology. She also has trial experience in cases involving fraud, breach of contract, and unfair competition.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Lena worked as a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin where she provided technical assistance and analysis for the Air Force Satellite Control Network and various satellite program offices responsible for space defense, communications, and surveillance. While working in the aerospace industry, she was granted secret clearance from the Department of Defense.

Lena is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Section and Animal Issues Committee, the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Azusa Rotary, and the International Game Developers Association.

She is author of "At the Crossroads of Law and Technology," 33 Loyola L.A. L. Rev. 1099 (2000). She was a speaker and program panelist at the Second Annual At the Crossroads Program for Law and Technology sponsored by the California Institute of Technology and Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in the fall of 2000.
