Ms. Lau received her law degree in 2002 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she was awarded the Witkin and CALI Excellence Awards in Legal Writing and Research and served as a Senior Editor for the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal.
During law school, Ms. Lau was a Judicial Extern to Chief Judge Marilyn Hall Patel of the United States District Court, Northern District of California, as well as a Judicial Extern to Justice William F. Rylaarsdam of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District.
