Lawyer Overview

Jason Keener is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, where he focuses on IP litigation involving software and Internet issues.

Mr. Keener's experience includes representing a major sports league against claims of patent infringement for its online Internet applications; representing a large software development company in protecting its intellectual property through copyright and trade secret law by obtaining an injunction against a competitor's product that was built with stolen source code; representing a software company against claims of intellectual property infringement in the development of a product to replace a previous product which the company was re-selling; and representing a software development company against claims of patent infringement for its event management software.

Mr. Keener received his J.D., summa cum laude, in 2003 from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated as the top student in his class. He was a member of both the Law Review and Moot Court. He earned a B.S. in both computer science and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in three years, and graduated with distinctive scholastic achievement.

Mr. Keener is currently admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois.
