Mike Fauerbach and Joe Martell provide legal advice, counseling, guidance, and representation to people throughout the Chequamegon Bay, Wisconsin area where they have practiced law for more than 30 years combined. Mike and Joe have helped literally thousands of people with their personal injury, worker's compensation, boundary disputes, easements, wrongful death, criminal defense, contested probate proceedings, business law, debtor/creditor law, bankruptcy, family law, and real estate issues.
Michael F. Fauerbach
Mike is a 1977 cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. Following graduation from law school, he served as a clerk for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and as a trial attorney and supervising attorney with the Wisconsin Public Defender's office.
Mike devotes much of his practice to personal injury, worker's compensation, and a variety of other litigated issues and boundary disputes. He is a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Ashland/Bayfield County Bar Association. Mike is admitted to practice before the State and Federal courts of Wisconsin, as well as a member of the Michigan Bar. He has published in the area of worker's compensation.
Mike served five years on the Wisconsin Board of Attorney Professional Responsibility, with one year as Vice Chairman, which at that time was the ethics board for Wisconsin Attorneys; a position to which he was appointed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He has been an Ashland County Court Commissioner since 1985.
Mike practices forestry as a hobby. He is a member of the Wisconsin Woodlands Owners Association and has published many articles in their journal. Mike also speaks at seminars regarding tree farming legal issues. He is a former Iron County Tree Farmer of the Year. Mike resides on his tree farm in Saxon, Wisconsin.
Joseph E. Martell
Joe is a 1993 graduate of the University of South Dakota Law School, in the top third of his class. He is licensed to practice in the State and Federal courts of Wisconsin, and the Bad River and Red Cliff area Tribal Courts.
Joe's practice is concentrated in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, debtor/creditor and bankruptcy law, family law, personal injury, real estate, and worker's compensation. He has taught real estate law and is a member of the Wisconsin Realtors Association.
Joe holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is active in the martial arts, including teaching at a local fitness center. He is a tree farmer and is a member of the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association. Joe lives in Grandview, Wisconsin.
