Janet Carter is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group and the Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2005.

Practice

Ms. Carter has experience handling a variety of civil litigation matters in state and federal court, focusing on complex commercial disputes, as well as advising on foreign sovereign immunity, investor-state arbitration, and computer misuse issues. She also has extensive experience with appellate litigation, and has briefed cases in the Supreme Court and federal appellate courts involving contract law, bankruptcy, employment law, and constitutional law.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Carter clerked at the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
