Lawyer Overview

Daphne Bishop represents employers in an assortment of cases under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII, including sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on age, race, national origin, sex, and disability. She also represents employers in other employment-related litigation, including wrongful termination, breach of contract claims, and workplace violence restraining orders. In addition, Daphne counsels employers on various issues, including terminations, wage and hour regulations, employee handbooks, and workplace harassment training.

Daphne has extensive experience in state and federal courts, including the California Court of Appeals. She has represented clients in arbitrations and mediations before the American Arbitration Association and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, including first-chairing a six-day arbitration. Daphne has represented employers before the California Labor Commissioner and first-chaired two trials de novo contesting decisions of the California Labor Commissioner. Daphne has experience representing employers before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board and the National Labor Relations Board as well.

Daphne is deeply committed to pro bono service and has represented indigent clients on behalf of Public Counsel, the Alliance for Children's Rights, the California Women's Law Center's Habeas Project, and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center's Anti-Violence Project. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association (Labor & Employment Section), and the Langston Bar Association (Business Section, African-America Attorneys in Downtown Firms).
