Lawyer Overview

Louis Liu's practice encompasses a broad range of fields, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, technology licensing and transfers, and general corporate and commercial matters. Louis has worked with multinational financial institutions, major telecom operators, high-tech industries, environmental companies, and pharmaceutical enterprises.

In 2004, Louis worked with the Industrial Bank of Taiwan and Société Générale on the first trade receivable securitization deal in Taiwan. From 2005 to 2006, Louis worked, along with other Jones Day lawyers, as deal counsel on the second trade receivable securitization that involved more than NT$13 billion worth of trade receivables involving obligors in 21 different jurisdictions. As a result of his active practice in the Taiwan securitization market, Louis was nominated by Chambers Global 2007 as one of the leaders in their fields in banking and finance.

Louis is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of New York. He is fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English.
