Lawyer Overview

Serge Clerckx has extensive experience in EC competition law and government regulation, particularly in the IT and communications sectors.

His competition practice covers both merger control and antitrust. Examples of recent merger cases include SCA/Procter & Gamble, Procter & Gamble/Gillette, and various acquisitions by British Telecom (BT). His antitrust practice includes complex investigations and private enforcement litigation, including a €500m damage claim for abuse of dominant position, as well as day-to-day counseling for global trade associations on antitrust compliance.

Serge's government regulatory work involves representation of clients in IT, communications, and other regulated industries at the international, EU, and national levels. Most recent matters include the representation of the GSM Association before the European Court of Justice in Case C-58/08 on the legal basis of the regulation of international roaming prices.

Serge's representative clients include BT, General Motors, GSM Association, KPN Group Belgium (formerly BASE), Procter & Gamble, Tele2, and Wavecrest.

Serge regularly speaks at conferences and has published articles on competition law and government regulation.
