Lawyer Overview
Jean-Paul Boulee focuses his practice on commercial and securities litigation, as well as white-collar criminal defense. He has defended several class actions and has considerable experience with accounting and securities fraud cases and commercial contract disputes. Jean-Paul frequently represents companies and individuals being investigated by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission and also has successfully defended clients being investigated by the Department of Energy, the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, the Department of the Treasury, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Association, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division.
In addition to his extensive civil litigation experience, Jean-Paul has handled a wide variety of white-collar criminal cases, including cases involving antitrust violations, bribery of public officials, defense contractor fraud, false claims, insider trading, mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, tax fraud, public corruption, and unlawful campaign contributions. Prior to joining Jones Day, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. While stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), he tried 50 courts-martial and separation boards and acted as the operational law advisor to the 502nd Infantry Regiment in the field.
Jean-Paul is active in the Atlanta community, where he serves on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce's Atlanta Public Schools Committee, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History's Corporate Leadership Council, and Washington & Lee University's Atlanta Alumni Association Board of Directors.
