Lawyer Overview

Dr. Ulrich Mehler is counsel to numerous clients in various areas of IP law. He has extensive experience in copyright, design right, unfair competition, and trademark law especially as it relates to litigious and nonlitigious matters, including contract drafting and prosecution and enforcement of IP rights. In addition, his experience includes supporting corporate and M&A transactions.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2008, Ulrich was a member of the IP practice group of Baker & McKenzie's Frankfurt office. He also worked for two years as in-house counsel to Bayer AG where he was responsible for the global strategy in the litigation of Lipobay/Baycol, a cholesterol-lowering agent.

Ulrich is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V. (GRUR)) and the Canadian German Lawyers Association.
