Chris Athas concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and securities matters. He has represented buyers, sellers, and their financial advisors in public and private acquisitions and divestitures, restructurings, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances. He has represented issuers and underwriters in public and private securities offerings and advises clients regarding general corporate and securities matters, including corporate governance, fiduciary and disclosure issues, and strategic planning. He also has represented insurgent stockholders and incumbent directors in successful proxy contests for corporate control. Chris has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, computer systems, agriculture, transportation, telecommunications, aerospace, chemicals, entertainment, health care, pharmaceuticals, publishing, and consumer goods.
