Lawyer Overview

Michael Kline’s practice is focused upon civil litigation, and the steps needed to prevent conflicts from either arising or escalating to the point they require judicial intervention. He represents individuals and businesses in corporate and complex business matters, including contract, tort, technology, real estate, employment, and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Kline also specializes in emerging technologies; he provides consultation, instruction, assistance and continuing education seminars to fellow attorneys and others seeking to incorporate the latest technologies into their businesses.

Mr. Kline is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Fernando Valley Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before all State, Federal and Bankruptcy Courts in the State of California. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (B.A. in Journalism, awarded with distinction, 1997); and Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California (Juris Doctor, 2000). Mr. Kline served as an editor of Pepperdine University’s Law Review, and as the inaugural managing editor of the school’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Journal. A three-time Dean’s Award winner for his contributions to Pepperdine Law and his fellow students, Mr. Kline capped his law school career by taking first place in Pepperdine’s annual Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition. Mr. Kline also served as a legal clerk to Judge Stanley Sporkin in Washington D.C., during which time he personally observed portions of the Microsoft anti-trust trial as well as the delivery of the now-infamous Starr Report to Congress.

Mr. Kline’s legal analysis has been published in a variety of professional and trade periodicals, including California Lawyer, Valley Lawyer and CE Pro. Prior thereto, Mr. Kline penned “Wading in the Sargasso Sea: The Double Jeopardy Clause, Non-Capital Sentencing Proceedings, and California’s ‘Three Strikes’ Law Collide in Monge v. California,” [27 Pep.L.Rev. 861]. Before he joined the legal profession, Mr. Kline was an on-air personality for WJAC-TV, a local NBC news affiliate in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He continues to be involved in related matters for the firm; having served as the Editor-In-Chief of WCC&E's Legal Examiner newsletter, and as the producer, editor and host of the firm's first video podcast series, "Perspectives."

Michael is an avid and outspoken technology junkie and admitted Apple/Mac fanatic. When he is not at work or spending time with his wife and their new baby boy, he can be found in front of the television watching any of the four major sports teams that hail from his hometown of Philadelphia, PA (including, most notably, his beloved Philadelphia Eagles).
