Melissa H. Lambert joined the firm in 2002 and specializes in the areas of labor and employment law and litigation and dispute resolution. Ms. Lambert's employment experience includes counseling and defending employers in all aspects of employment law, including wrongful discharge and discrimination claims, and advice regarding labor and employment law compliance. Ms. Lambert's litigation practice involves all phases of litigation arising from the firm's employment, real estate, corporate, and trust and estate practices. Additionally, Ms. Lambert has personal injury, product liability, and general civil litigation experience. In particular, Ms. Lambert's litigation practice includes drafting complaints, engaging in discovery, and writing and responding to dispositive motions.

Equal Employment Opportunity  Assist employers in responding to charges of discrimination, including sex, race, national origin, age and disability, filed with state and federal agencies. Represent clients in discrimination lawsuits filed in state and federal courts.

Sexual Harassment   Represent employers in sexual harassment lawsuits filed by employees. Assist clients with investigating sexual harassment complaints and fashioning remedial measures for complainants and harassers.

Wrongful Discharge  Assist clients in defending wrongful discharge claims.

Wage and Hour  Advise companies on overtime payment rules and exempt/non-exempt status of employees to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.

Personnel Management  Assist companies with drafting employee handbooks, job descriptions, and employment contracts.

Business Litigation  Represented company in prosecution of claims for fraud, unjust enrichment, and breach of contract. Successfully obtained injunction for breach of non-competition agreement.
