Darrell J. Guthrie is a partner in Mullin Hoard & Brown, L.L.P.'s Lubbock office. Prior to joining the firm Darrell held legal positions in local and state government. Darrell also served over nine years on active duty in the United States Army and continues to serve as an officer in the Army Reserve.
Darrell has a growing practice in the area of renewable energy, with a particular focus on wind energy. His experience includes representing landowners in Texas and New Mexico in negotiating and drafting wind energy leases. Darrell also practices in the areas of oil and gas and water rights. He has represented landowners in Texas and Oklahoma in negotiating oil and gas leases; and advised Texas landowners and oil and gas companies on the regulatory requirements associated with water use. Darrell practice also includes representation of Texas political sub-divisions, bankruptcy, real estate, and civil litigation.
Darrell has testified before various committees of the Texas legislature on telecommunications issues. As an Army officer, he has advised U.S. and NATO senior military and civilian leaders on nation building mechanisms used in Afghanistan.
Darrell is an active member of the community and serves as President of Youth Corps, Inc., a non-profit corporation devoted to developing leadership skills in 14-18 year olds. Darrell is also active in several education and community economic development projects.
