Diane E. Gianos is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, where she is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment Practice. As counsel to management, Ms. Gianos represents employers of all sizes, including Fortune 100 companies, closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and partnerships. Her nationwide practice includes litigation in the federal and state courts, as well as representation of employers before such governmental agencies as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and various state human rights commissions.

Ms. Gianos has extensive employment litigation experience, including lead counsel designation representing employers in class action lawsuits brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.　Ms. Gianos has defended countless employers in wrongful termination and discrimination claims, retaliatory discharge actions, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, and employment torts. She has successfully litigated precedent-setting employment cases and has been notably successful in securing summary disposition of employment litigation.

Apart from traditional litigation matters, Ms. Gianos regularly counsels employers concerning statutory compliance with employment statutes, Executive Order 11246 affirmative action compliance programs, union avoidance techniques, collective bargaining and arbitration matters, employee handbooks, plant closings and relocations, employment contracts, and sensitive personnel policies, such as drug testing and sexual harassment, as well as other employment-related issues.

Ms. Gianos develops and conducts training seminars for company management and human resource professionals on critical topics such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, The Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family & Medical Leave Act, sexual harassment, and hiring and termination issues. She also lectures on a variety of employment issues at national and state conventions and conferences and is a contributor to the annual employment law treatise, The Law Guide - Employee Relations Law for Illinois Employers, published by MRA - The Management Association, Inc.

Ms. Gianos received her law degree in 1989 and is admitted to the bar in Illinois and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and Central Districts of Illinois, in addition to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Sixth Circuits.

Ms. Gianos was selected for inclusion in the 2008 and 2009 Illinois Super Lawyers lists.*
