Gernod Meinel is a Director of the firm's labor and employment group and Managing Partner of the firm's German offices. His practice focuses on labor and corporate law. He has extensive experience in the areas of restructuring, collective bargaining, compensation plans, stock option plans, codetermination, and labor litigation. His representations include clients in industries such as media, metal, health care, chemical and pharmaceutical, food, and telecommunications, as well as governmental entities.

Previously, Gernod was an attorney with the Berlin office of a major German law firm, where he concentrated mainly on privatization work related to German reunification and transactional matters. He also practiced in the San Francisco office of a leading U.S. law firm for a half year.

During his studies at the Free University of Berlin, Gernod worked as a research assistant. While he worked on his doctoral dissertation, he was also a teaching assistant in corporate and labor law at the Free University.
