Lawyer Overview

Judith Heyn counsels employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters. She represents companies in proceedings before the Labor Courts, Higher Labor Courts, and the Federal Labor Court. Her practice includes advising and representing companies and top executives on negotiating and terminating employment contracts, the employment consequences of company restructuring, acquisitions of German companies, and all issues regarding Works Council matters.

Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson Raue, Judith worked as an associate in a leading German law firm.

From 1995 to 1997, Judith spent her required internship with various state courts and administrations. In addition, she worked as a teaching and research assistant for German Labor and Social Security Law Professor, Dr. Jochem Schmitt, at the Free University of Berlin.

Judith was admitted to the State Bar of Berlin 1997. She has acquired the official title "Specialist in Labor and Employment Law" ("Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht").

She has coauthored a standard commentary published by Beck on the Part-time Work and Fixed-Term Contracts of the Employment Act (1st ed., 2003; 2nd ed., 2004) as well as a commentary on anti-discrimination legislation (AGG).
