Lawyer Overview

John Beckman’s practice is focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and federal securities law matters. John counsels boards of directors and board committees on corporate governance matters and advises public companies on compliance with federal securities laws and stock exchange listing standards. 

John has extensive experience in public and private capital raising transactions, including initial public offerings, primary and secondary offerings, and Rule 144A private placements. John has extensive experience representing issuers of debt securities, including high yield, investment grade, and convertible debt securities, in both public and private offerings. John also represents clients in a broad range of corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, tender offers, exchange offers, recapitalizations, private equity investments, and joint ventures. John has extensive experience representing public companies and special committees in merger and acquisition transactions.

John serves as regular outside corporate and securities counsel to several New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ-listed companies and advises on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure and other requirements of the federal securities laws. He represents companies in many different industries, including technology, telecommunications, government contracting, manufacturing, retail, financial services, and hotels and lodging.
