Jeffrey concentrates a significant portion of his practice in defending errors and omissions claims directed to insurance agents, brokers and other investment professionals in both judicial and non-judicial forums, including the NASD (now FINRA). This includes the defense of regulatory matters and disputes before the Pennsylvania State Securities Commission and FINRA, and the representation and defense against subpoenas and other requests for documents and testimony directed to investment companies and investment professionals.

Jeffrey has also successfully handled numerous matters defending real estate agents/brokers and other real estate professionals, including home inspectors, as well as defending or prosecuting contractual and commercial disputes. He has litigated insurance coverage/insurance bad faith claims and defended all types of general liability and casualty matters.

Jeffrey has handled many of these matters in the state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania. His experience is wide and deep from the district justice level up through the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Federal District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. He is proficient in both state and federal court practice and possess a strong command of the procedural rules, as well as utilizing the mediation and arbitration process to resolve complex disputes.

Jeffrey's expansive legal background has allowed him to successfully handle hundreds of civil matters from the most basic to the most complex, resulting in defense verdicts, dismissals, or favorable settlements in both judicial and non-judicial forums. As a former registered representative, Jeffrey's understanding of the workings of the financial services industry and financial markets, as well as his familiarity with all types of insurance products, has allowed him to efficiently and effectively handle matters involving these issues.

In 1984 Jeffrey received his B.A. in from Villanova University. He then went on to receive his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1988 graduating in the top third of his class.

Significant Representative Matters

  • Successfully argued that a policy of life insurance is not bound until the policy of insurance is actually delivered and is paid for by the policyholder.

  • Successfully able to reduce and resolve multi-million dollar settlement demands down to less than a fraction of the damages claimed. In one instance, the demand was for $1.6 million dollars and was resolved for $245,000. In another instance, the demand was for $2.1 million dollars, and the case was resolved for $160,000.

  • Through the use of inspection, engineering, or construction experts, was able to resolve for pennies on the dollar cases with high exposure, including extra-contractual damage exposure.

  • Successfully employed the use of appraisers, conduct experts, and cause and origin experts to resolve multiple matters involving potential exposure in excess of a million dollars for fractions of that amount.
