Lawyer Overview

Since joining Jones Day, Matt has focused his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, transactional, corporate counseling, and environmental matters. His business and corporate experience includes advising on asset and stock acquisitions, private equity transactions, entity formations and dissolutions, corporate governance issues, and a variety of other transactional agreements, including lease, service, and commercial supply agreements. Matt also has experience in construction contracting.

Matt's environmental work has involved helping clients with an array of regulatory compliance matters, including air, water, and waste permitting issues, assisting clients on minimizing liabilities associated with Superfund, and defending clients against government environmental enforcement actions. His legal experience also extends into corporate defense in the areas of product liability, insurance coverage, and contract law.

Matt coauthored a chapter in the 2002 Bar Institute's Environmental Law Forum publication. The chapter outlines basic Superfund principles and provides an update of recent Superfund case law. Matt is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
