Jennifer Seraphine concentrates her practice on intellectual property litigation. She has experience in patent, trademark, and copyright infringement cases as well as cases involving claims of unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, theft of trade secrets, and enforcement of covenants not to compete.

Jennifer has participated in patent infringement litigations involving the now ubiquitous Blackberry device, technology for the downloading of music samples on the Internet, equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductor chips, and the shopping cart metaphor and payment systems for online sales. Jennifer also has handled trademark infringement matters, including one case involving the name of a popular Manhattan nightclub, and has defended copyright infringement claims, including a claim of copying on the Internet against a major banking institution. In one of Jennifer's earlier and one of her favorite cases, she participated in a jury trial defending against claims of trademark infringement and false designation of origin involving "Ting," a grapefruit flavored soda popular in the Caribbean and South Florida.

Some of the clients Jennifer has represented include Air Products and Chemicals, Alfa Bank (Russia), Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank AG (Singapore), Harman International Industries, Motorola, Research In Motion, and Soverain Software.

Jennifer has appeared before federal and state courts throughout the United States. These include the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, District of Delaware, and Eastern District of Texas.

Jennifer joined Jones Day's New York office in 2001, after serving as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and then practicing with a boutique intellectual property firm in Miami, Florida. In 2006, she transferred to the Firm's San Francisco Office.
