Lawyer Overview

Trained as a trial lawyer, Ms. Pector’s international practice focuses on litigation and employment counseling. In this capacity, Ms. Pector handles all aspects of litigation and advises employers concerning policy and compliance issues.

During Ms. Pector’s career, she has represented a variety of corporate clients in cases involving sexual harassment, wrongful termination, covenant not to compete agreements, workers’ compensation retaliation, FMLA and disability discrimination, race discrimination, national origin discrimination, gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, discrimination on the basis of religion, age discrimination, breach of contract and FLSA collective actions. Ms. Pector also has significant experience representing employers before regulatory agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Commission on Human Rights and the Texas Workforce Commission, as well as other state regulatory agencies.

In addition, Ms. Pector’s international practice involves counseling employers in order to minimize employment disputes and potential litigation with respect to the full range of issues concerning the employment relationship, wage and hour issues, globalizing the workforce, personnel and policy manuals, disciplinary matters and compliance issues. Ms. Pector also has significant experience with complex commercial litigation, contract drafting and interpretation, and products liability litigation, with an emphasis on commercial disputes and asbestos claims.

Ms. Pector has appeared in state and federal courts throughout Texas, and has briefed appeals in state court.

In 2004, Ms. Pector was voted among the “Best Houston Lawyers Under 40.” From 2005 through 2007 she has been named a Texas Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics Media and the publishers of Texas Monthly magazine. Ms. Pector was also named in 2007 by H Texas Magazine as one of “Houston’s Top Professionals on the Fast Track.”

Ms. Pector is a member of the American and Texas Bar Associations, the Houston Young Lawyers Association and the Association of Women Lawyers.
