Henry Montgomery practices in the business area, concentrating primarily on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, private equity, debt financing and secured transactions. He advises clients on general corporate, limited liability company and partnership law matters. Mr. Montgomery has represented businesses in a wide range of industries, including technology, real estate development and management, construction, hospitality, restaurant, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, logistics and oil and gas.

Mr. Montgomery has extensive experience representing privately held companies in acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, joint ventures and private equity transactions. He works with clients in developing deal structures and strategies, addressing issues that arise in due diligence and negotiating and documenting transaction agreements and related investment and debt financing arrangements.

Mr. Montgomery regularly advises business clients on the structuring and documentation of debt financing transactions, secured transactions and credit relationships with customers and suppliers. He has handled a wide variety of financing transactions, including senior and subordinated debt financing, asset based loan transactions, commercial paper programs, syndicated credit facilities, inventory consignment arrangements, letters of credit, real estate financing, and loan restructure and workout agreements. In recent years he has worked on financing projects totaling more than 1.5 billion.

Mr. Montgomery also has substantial experience representing clients who are dealing with distressed businesses and creditors’ rights matters. He advises business clients on bankruptcy and insolvency laws and assists them in structuring transactions and contractual relationships which will minimize risk. He has represented public and private companies in the acquisition and disposition of distressed businesses through secured party sale transactions and Section 363 sales in Chapter 11 reorganization cases.

Mr. Montgomery serves on the Board of Directors of the South Central Ohio Minority Business Council. He is a member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations.
