Gary Adelman is a partner, specializing in Business, Intellectual Property, Entertainment and litigation. He represents a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurs who are just starting up to fully established partnerships and corporations, all of whom rely on his vast experience in business and comprehensive knowledge of the law to advise and protect them and to enhance the value of their business.

Gary has a diverse background in business, intellectual property and entertainment, deriving from his many years as a practicing attorney and his ownership of a number of successful companies. His hands-on experience has given him a unique perspective on the decisions and problems his clients may face which he uses to expertly advise and vigorously represent them. Gary’s first-hand knowledge coupled with his diverse range of industry experience in the fields of music, art, film, software development and consumer product marketing has distinguished him from many of the other professionals in his field.

Gary has also been a qualified panel lawyer for the Intellectual Property Panel of the Legal Referral Service for the Bar Association of the City of New York since 2007.

Previously, Gary was the managing partner of the Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Group at Barton Barton & Plotkin, LLP, the founding partner of the IP firm Adelman & Lavaia and an associate at the Litigation Firm of Weiner & Milo.

As part of his business acumen, in 1993 Gary co-founded Liquid Sky Music, an electronic dance label which gained critical acclaim and underground success throughout the 1990's, Gary also co-founded Downloadcard, Inc., an award winning technology firm whose innovative PIN Code technology and was central to the recent wave of digital download giveaway marketing programs.

Recently Gary has been instrumental in getting Undrcrwn, the basketball lifestyle clothing company, off the ground.

Gary is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the Federal Court of the Southern District of New York and the to Eastern District of New York, the State of Connecticut, the Federal District Court of Connecticut. He received his B.A., from Syracuse University in 1988 and his J.D., from Hofstra University in 1991. Gary belongs to the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyer's Association.
