Lawyer Overview
Peter Homberg oversees the German life sciences team and is currently involved in cooperation and research agreements as well as cross-border IP licensing and IP strategies in the life sciences sector, including transactions for pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and biotechnology companies.
From 1990 to 1994, Peter headed the Singapore office of Thümmel, Schütze & Partners, where he was responsible for the representation and counseling of German investors in Southeast Asia, especially with regard to establishing companies and contract negotiations, as well as rendering legal advice in commercial matters.
From 1994 to 1996, Peter was in charge of the mergers and acquisitions department (Beteiligungsprojekte) at a subsidiary of Daimler Benz Interservices (Debis) and was responsible for all equity participations of the company. He represented the corporation, as member of the board, in a joint venture company and in its subsidiaries. Moreover, he handled the selection of companies to be acquired throughout Europe.
While deputy head of the legal department at Roche Diagnostics (formerly Boehringer Mannheim) during 1996 to 2001, Peter was in charge of all legal matters for the laboratory systems business unit, with a focus on general contract law, license and patent law, labor law, and cooperation and research agreements.
Also, with his extensive knowledge of Southeast Asia, he continues to advise clients with activities in this region as well as corporations from this area that are interested in investing in Europe.
Peter is a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright. (GRUR), and the German Institution for Arbitration (DIS).
