Lawyer Overview

Helen specializes in regional trade mark prosecution work, strategic planning, and management of international trade mark portfolios. Her practice includes advising clients on protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, trade mark audits, licensing, and acquisitions. She has represented multinational and domestic clients in different areas of trade, including beverages, fashion retailing, cosmetics, entertainment, personal care products, sports and leisure, and pharmaceuticals.

Helen's experience in the intellectual property area of law spans from private practice to the public sector. She was a senior solicitor with the intellectual property department of the Hong Kong government for two years during which she was a hearing officer and was closely involved in the drafting and passage of the current Hong Kong Trade Marks Ordinance.

Helen is currently the secretary of the counsel committee of The Hong Kong Institute of Trade Marks Practitioners.

She has been named as one of Asia's leading lawyers in the IP area in the annual Asialaw Leading Lawyers directory for 2007.
