Law Firm Overview

The North Carolina medical malpractice law office of Elam & Rousseaux, P.A., formerly known as the Law Office of William H. Elam, P.A., has a long history of commitment to the processing of medical negligence claims and those injured at the hands of a health care provider.

Since the early 1980's, William H. Elam has handled numerous cases involving medical negligence. Bill Elam was previously employed at Wishart, Norris, Henninger and Pittman, P.A. where he established the medical malpractice division within that firm. Mr. Elam left that firm in 1998 and reopened the Law Office of William H. Elam, P.A. As the practice continued to grow, Michael J. Rousseaux was made partner and in the summer of 2003, William H. Elam, P.A. restructured to become Elam & Rousseaux, P.A.

This growth has continued as the firm has since expanded the legal staff to include Marcey R. Selle and William R. Elam. Also, Elam & Rousseaux employs a team of medical consultants in order to properly and efficiently evaluate the potential malpractice claims of our clients.

As always, in both the medical negligence and nursing home negligence arenas, the patient and/or their family is our primary focus and concern. In the past, the firm has participated in both the prosecution and defense of medical malpractice claims and on several occasions have represented physicians and/or healthcare providers in defending claims and before licensing boards. However, Elam & Rousseaux currently only handles cases on behalf of the injured party.

Our office is unique. We communicate regularly with our clients. We limit our caseload to permit maximizing our resources on the cases we agree to accept.
