Law Firm Overview

If the Overland Park office of Lathrop & Gage were a stand-alone firm, it would be the third-largest law firm in Kansas, with a current staff of more than 80 employees (including 44 attorneys and 11 paralegals), with plans for continued growth in the future. Strongly encouraging involvement in the community, we’ve had among our attorneys a Kansas Governor and currently have a Kansas State Senator (Senator John Vratil) as well as several others with past involvement at the state and local levels of government. Although every practice area of the firm is represented in this office, attorneys in our Overland Park office primarily handle matters involving business, business litigation, real estate, education, health care and trusts and estates in Kansas and Western Missouri. In particular, Lathrop & Gage's Overland Park attorneys have been instrumental in all aspects of real estate development in Eastern Kansas, including the financing, planning, zoning and construction of office, commercial, residential and golf course facilities. From this office Lathrop & Gage offers one of the largest and most experienced education law practices in the Midwest, which advises numerous school districts and colleges. Our trusts and estates practice is headquartered in this office, which has two members of the prestigious American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel. The Overland Park office also houses a number of health care attorneys who advise hospitals and doctors throughout the region.
