Lawyer Overview

Dr. Sung has more than 15 years experience in dispute resolution and advises on disputes in relation to a wide range of areas, including joint ventures, finance, securities, intellectual property, labor relationships, fraud, and property development transactions. He conducts arbitrations at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and also advises on the PRC law aspects of mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings involving PRC companies.

Dr. Sung is a regular conference presenter and has spoken at conferences organized by the Hong Kong government on BOT projects in China and by the Hong Kong Securities Association on PRC securities law in Hong Kong. He is a visiting associate professor of law at Anhui University and an advisor to the M.B.A. program at Nanjing University.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Dr. Sung worked as a judge in Anhui Province and was the manager of the law department of CITIC Securities in Tianjin. In addition, he is a CIETAC arbitrator, serving on its constructions dispute resolution commission, as well as an independent director of a publicly listed China State Power company.
