K.O. Herston was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was on the editorial board of the Tennessee Law Review. He quickly fell in love with East Tennessee and decided to make his home in Knoxville. He has been practicing law here for ten years.

K.O. is an avid distance runner and has completed five marathons. He finished the Los Angeles Marathon on March 4, 2007, and is now training for his second season competing in triathlons.

K.O. especially enjoys running with his dogs, boating on Norris Lake, cycling all over East Tennessee, hiking in Big South Fork, and reading.

Throughout 2007, K.O. will serve as President of the Board of Directors for the Safe Haven Center for the Recovery from Sexual Assault. He also speaks to professional organizations and trade groups whenever possible.
