Spencer Simon's practice focuses primarily on the representation of technology-intensive companies in all aspects of intellectual property and corporate transactions. His practice covers a broad spectrum of technologies, including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, information, software, telecommunications, medical devices, and biotechnology.

Spencer has considerable experience drafting and negotiating a variety of intellectual property agreements, including licensing and technology transfer, acquisition, research, joint development, clinical trial, supply, manufacturing, marketing, sales, distribution, purchasing, and commercial service agreements. In addition, he regularly counsels clients on matters involving intellectual property issues that arise in the context of public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formation, and general corporate transactions.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Spencer was an associate in the licensing group and the biotechnology group at Pennie & Edmonds LLP and counsel at Celgene Corporation.

He is a member of the State Bar of California.
