Lawyer Overview

Scott practices business law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance. Scott has extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and multijurisdictional corporate finance. Prior to joining Jones Day, he worked in the Hong Kong office of a large New York-based international firm where he practiced general corporate and commercial law. He also has substantial experience in U.S. securities and taxation issues.

Scott was a vital member of a team that advised on a US$240 million private equity investment, and he was involved in the negotiating of and preparing of all the documentation. In another important transaction, he acted for a leading five-star luxury hotel development and management company in establishing its first PRC property. Recently he has assisted a well-known European-based international bank in the bidding and purchase of nonperforming loans from state-owned PRC banks and PRC asset management companies.

Scott possesses native English language skills and is fluent in speaking Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
