Lawyer Overview

For more than 20 years, Wolfgang Stammler was a justice/chief justice of the Frankfurt Administrative Law Court (Verwaltungsgericht). During this time he became a recognized authority in the areas of public law, administrative procedural law, environmental and pollution control law, and German and European subsidies law. He is also extremely knowledgeable in the German laws concerning municipal and local trade tax, real estate, public procurement, construction, and planning.

Wolfgang has been active in Frankfurt regional politics and various political bodies in the Rhine-Main area. He was a member of the Hessian Supreme Court (Staatsgerichtshof) and the Hessian state parliament. During his parliamentary service he was also a member of the regional transportation and judicial committee.

Since joining Jones Day in 1999, Wolfgang has advised international and German companies in public law and environmental matters. In addition, he advises real estate investors and developers in Frankfurt and its surrounding vicinity. Most recently, he also has been advising larger cities and public transportation companies in the public procurement of transportation services in connection with the German Urban Transportation Service ( ÖPNV).
