Lawyer Overview

Eric Enson's practice focuses on criminal and civil antitrust and unfair competition litigation. Eric has extensive experience conducting investigations of alleged antitrust violations and unlawful cartel activity, coordinating responses to government inquiries, and negotiating appropriate resolutions with government authorities, including the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission. In addition, Eric has successfully defended companies involved in nationwide, consumer class actions. He has experience in every aspect of complex civil litigation, from responses and challenges to complaints, to managing, coordinating, and taking discovery, to motion practice and summary judgment and through trial, in both state and federal courts. Most recently, Eric was part of the trial team that obtained a full defense jury verdict on an antitrust group boycott claim filed against Macy's and The May Company, which was ranked as one of the "Top Ten Defense Verdicts" of 2007 by the Daily Journal.

Eric also advises clients on antitrust and competition issues in the transactional and regulatory contexts. He has provided advice and assistance in mergers and acquisitions and has coordinated responses to second requests issued by the Federal Trade Commission, most recently in connection with the Federated Department Stores and May Company merger, the largest department store merger in history.

Eric represents clients from varying industries that include Dole Food Company, Unocal Corporation, ChevronTexaco, Bayer A.G., Diebold, Incorporated, Experian Information Solutions, CB Richard Ellis, PepsiCo, and Ricoh Company. Eric also maintains an active pro bono practice. In association with Public Counsel, Bet Tzedek, and the American Red Cross, Eric has represented underprivileged clients in consumer protection, unlawful detainer, immigration services fraud, and public benefits cases.
